I wanted to like this hotel, but the service i received made me hate it. Overall a good experience, a step above your typical holiday inn vibe and level of service but definitely a nudge below other Ritz properties we have stayed at. I had to ask for housekeeping to vacuum our room again as there were food residues in the floor of our room, not a pleasant experience. As others have mentioned the hotel is showing some signs of age, you can see spots in the carpet and walls. They do offer passes to a nice aquatic center a couple of blocks away so we did that and had a good time. Initially we thought this hotel had a pool but found out that's not the case. No music or ambiance Sunday night but that is expected. We had some drinks in the hotel's bar (Lobby Lounge) and thought the drinks were overpriced with average quality. The restaurant (Casa Don Alfonso) was stunning and the service/food was very good. Service was very good from valet parking to housekeeping. A little bit of a drive to downtown and some of the attraction but nothing crazy. The hotel is located in a very nice area (Clayton) that felt very safe. We stayed over the 4th of July weekend and had a very good experience at the Ritz in St.
